À Mossoul, la réhabilitation de l'église Notre-Dame-de-l'Heure
Depuis février 2020, les équipes de l'UNESCO supervisent les travaux de reconstruction de l'église Notre-Dame-de-l'Heure, située dans la vieille ville de Mossoul. Durant l'occupation de l'organisation État islamique (2014-2017), les djihadistes avaient transformé l'édifice religieux en tribunal. Des cordes tombaient des fenêtres, laissant imaginer que le pire s'était produit en ces murs.
Depuis, des centaines d'ouvriers tentent de redonner une âme à ce lieu, lourdement endommagé durant ces années de guerre.
In Mosul, the rehabilitation of Our Lady of the Clock church
Since February 2020, UNESCO teams have been supervising the reconstruction work on the Our Lady of the Clock, located in the old town of Mosul. During the occupation of the Islamic State organization (2014-2017), the jihadists had transformed the religious building into a court. Ropes were falling from the windows, suggesting that the worst had happened in these walls.
Since then, hundreds of workers have tried to give a soul to this place, heavily damaged during these years of war.
