Municipales 2026 à Pau : Faible affluence aux réunions de François Bayrou dans le quartier Kennedy
Pau, 7 mars 2026 — À quelques jours du premier tour des élections municipales, François Bayrou poursuit sa tournée quotidienne de terrain, engagée depuis le 3 mars et qui doit se poursuivre jusqu’au 12. Ce samedi, deux réunions publiques étaient organisées en extérieur, dans le quartier populaire de Kennedy, au nord de Pau.
Les rencontres n’ont cependant pas mobilisé les habitants : seule une poignée de personnes s’est déplacée pour la première réunion, place Kennedy. Quant à la deuxième, organisée place du Balaïtous, aucun participant ne s’est présenté.
Selon l’équipe du maire sortant, cette faible affluence s’expliquerait en partie par la diffusion du match de rugby Écosse–France. François Bayrou et ses proches ont finalement choisi de se rendre dans un pub et brasserie pour suivre la rencontre, faute de participants.

March 7, 2026 — With the first round of Pau's municipal elections approaching on March 15, François Bayrou, the incumbent mayor seeking a third term, presses on with his daily grassroots campaign tour that began March 3 and runs through the 12th. This Saturday featured two outdoor public meetings in the working-class Kennedy neighborhood north of Pau.
Attendance was dismal, however: just a handful of locals turned out for the first session at Place Kennedy. The second, planned for Place du Balaïtous, drew zero participants.
Bayrou's team attributes the sparse crowds partly to the ongoing Scotland-France Six Nations rugby match, broadcast live that afternoon on TF1. Short on supporters, Bayrou and his inner circle opted to watch the game at a nearby pub and brasserie.
