Préparatifs de la transhumance en vallée d'Ossau
Plateau du Bénou, 4 juillet 2025 — Le traditionnel marquage des troupeaux s’est déroulé ce vendredi matin, marquant le coup d’envoi de la transhumance estivale en vallée d’Ossau. Les éleveurs ont rassemblé plusieurs centaines de vaches et de chevaux, pour les marquer au goudron d’un H (pour Haut-Ossau) et d’un B (pour Bilhères et Bielle), garantissant leur identification tout au long de la saison en estive.

Bénou Plateau, July 4, 2025 - The traditional marking of the herds took place this Friday morning, signaling the start of the summer transhumance in the Ossau Valley. Farmers gathered several hundred cows and horses to mark them with tar using an H (for Haut-Ossau) and a B (for Bilhères and Bielle), ensuring their identification throughout the grazing season in the mountains.
