Collection d?éléments ayant en commun une ou plusieurs propriétés qui les caractérisent (Mathématiques),
Une composition équilibrée d?une oeuvre (Arts),
Collection harmonieuse d?objets assortis
Par extension, assortis pour les individus ? ils vont bien ensemble,
Costume composé de pièces (jupe, pantalon, chemise, veste, ?)
Un ensemble désigne donc une multitude qui peut être comprise comme un tout composé d?éléments NON identiques.

Une fois par semaine, les élèves sont rassemblés afin d?effectuer la levée du drapeau. Lors de ces occasions, ils sont habillés de l?uniforme de l?école, haut blanc et pantalon ou jupe beige ainsi qu?un foulard rouge autour du cou en été et veste rouge et bleue sombre en hiver.
Tous les autres jours, les professeurs les réunissent afin de réaliser des « chorégraphies » de groupe qu?ils répètent inlassablement au cours de l?année. Parfois, ils utilisent des éventails rouges, bleus ou jaunes qu?ils ouvrent et ferment selon un rythme bien précis et en accord avec la musique diffusée. Parfois, ils chantent également.
Ces rassemblements quotidiens ne durent que quelques minutes, tout au plus un quart d?heure entre le temps de se mettre en place, d?effectuer la chorégraphie et de rentrer ensuite en salle de cours.
Le reste du temps, ils sont réunis en petits comités afin d?apprendre et de répéter les parties de la chorégraphie qui leur sont assignées ou bien pour faire du sport.
Une fois par an, des militaires viennent « entraîner » ces jeunes enfants à marcher en groupe et en rythme.
Au delà de l?effet de masse et d?uniformité que l?on peut ressentir en regardant ces scènes dans leur globalité, on se rend compte en regardant de plus près et dans les détails que ces enfants, pris individuellement, sont comme tous les enfants du monde : vifs, turbulents, parfois obéissants, parfois indisciplinés, attentifs ou non, sérieux, exubérants, rieurs, joueurs.
Et que comme tous les enfants du monde, ils sont élevés et éduqués pour faire corps avec la société à laquelle ils s?identifieront une fois adultes.
Ils sont les éléments individuels d?un Ensemble qui fera la Chine de demain.

By extension, well-matched individuals ? they go well together,
Suit composed of separates (skirt, pant, shirt, jacket,?)
Thus an ensemble designates a multitude that can be understood as a whole composed of NON identical elements.

Photos realized from September, 2015 till March, 2016 in the stadium of a middle school in China, at Nankin.
Once a week, the pupils are gathered to make the levying of the flag. During these occasions, they are dressed in the uniform of the school, the high white and the pants or the skirts beige as well as the red scarf around the neck in summer, and red and dark blue jacket in winter.
All other days, the professors gather them to realize group ?choreographies? which they repeat indefatigably during the year.
Sometimes, they use red, blue or yellow fans which they open and close according to a very precise rhythm and in agreement with the broadcasted music. Sometimes, they also sing.
These daily gatherings owed only a few minutes, at the most a quarter of an hour enters the time to be set up, to make the choreography and to return then in classroom.
The rest of the time, they are gathered in small committees to learn and repeat the parts of the choreography which are assigned to them either to go in for sport.
Once a year, servicemen come ?to pull? these young children to walk in a group and in rhythm.
Beyond the effect of mass and uniformity which we can feel by looking at these scenes in their global nature, we realize by looking closer and in detail whom these children, taken individually, are as all the children of the world: lively, turbulents, sometimes obedients, sometimes undisciplined, attentives or not, serious, exuberants, cheerful persons, players.
And that as all the children of the world, they are raised and educated to be at one with the society with which they will identified once become adults.
They are the individual elements of a Group which will make the China of tomorrow.
