Il est le voisin de, le médiateur des rues, le confident, la « police de l’urbanisme », le garant des portails installés dans les règles. Dans ses relations il se voudrait impartial, mais « c’est compliqué, on ne l’est pas toujours. »

He is the neighbor next door, the street-level mediator, the confidant, the “urban planning police,” and the guardian of properly installed gates. In his relationships, he strives to remain impartial—but as he admits, “it’s complicated, we’re not always entirely so.”
Caught between personal commitment, bureaucratic pressure, citizens’ expectations, and constant decision-making, this report offers an intimate perspective on what it means to serve as mayor in a small town—a role constantly pulled between the democratic ideal and the exhaustion of institutional responsibilities.
