A mayor with two hats.
Michel is the mayor of a small village made infamous by the popular expression: "Ça tombe comme à Gravelotte" ("It's falling like Gravelotte").
Located in Moselle, in France's Grand Est region, Gravelotte is a village of fewer than 1,000 inhabitants attached to the Metz metropolitan area.
Michel Torloting is running for his third term of office. A native of the area, he joined the municipal council in 1989 to play an active role in the life of his commune.
Born into a farming family, he took over his parents' farm in the 1980s. Initially a conventional farmer, a few years ago he switched to organic farming, more in tune with his values.
I had the opportunity to follow Michel for a day. In his daily life as mayor, from administrative management to action in the field. Then as a farmer, both a breeder and a grower.
