De retour en France, elle entreprend un doctorat sur " le théâtre de l'identité dans les minorités" et devient conteuse mais aussi comédienne, chanteuse, écrivaine, puisant son inspiration aux sources de la tradition orale haïtienne, mêlant créole et français.

Mimi Barthélémy from her stage name (née Michèle Armand), is a Haitian storyteller and writer, born in Port-au-Prince on May 3, 1939 and died on April 27, 2013 in Paris. She left Haiti in 1956 to study in France and then went to live abroad. Back in France, she undertook a doctorate on "the theater of identity in minorities" and became a storyteller but also an actress, singer, writer, drawing her inspiration from the sources of Haitian oral tradition, mixing Creole and French.
