Action Contre la Faim, ONG au Sri Lanka
Ces photos ont été réalisées entre janvier et septembre 2005, après le tsunami qui a touché le Sri Lanka. J ai suivi le travail de l ONG. Mais quelques mois plus tard, le 4 Août 2006, dix-sept travailleurs humanitaires d ACF étaient brutalement assassinés dans les locaux de l organisation à Muttur au Nord du Sri Lanka. Les dix-sept Sri-lankais travaillant pour ACF ont été alignés, puis sommairement exécutés d une balle dans la tête. Jusqu à aujourd hui, l affaire Muttur constitue le plus grand massacre jamais perpétré à l encontre des travailleurs humanitaires, et l un des crimes de guerre les plus atroces commis durant le conflit interne au Sri Lanka.
Action Against Hunger, NGO in Sri Lanka
These photos were taken between January and September 2005, after the tsunami that hit Sri Lanka. I followed the work of the NGO. But a few months later, on August 4, 2006, seventeen ACF aid workers were brutally murdered in the organization's premises in Muttur in northern Sri Lanka. The seventeen Sri Lankans working for ACF were lined up and then summarily executed with a bullet to the head. To this day, the Muttur affair constitutes the largest massacre ever perpetrated against humanitarian workers, and one of the most atrocious war crimes committed during the internal conflict in Sri Lanka.
