La communaute Emmaus situee pres d Angers continue a vivre. Confinee.
A confined and destitute community: Emmaus calls for help. (Work in progress)
The Emmaus community located near Angers continues to live. Confined. No collection of objects, no more shops open. So, no more money coming in. And if this community is doing well, this is not the case for all of them. In the meantime, the companions are preparing the recovery. We also have to prepare the big shop for the reopening with a lot of new sanitary rules related to the coronavirus.
For 70 years, the Emmaus association has been working throughout France to welcome, accommodate and support the most disadvantaged in their reintegration. But today, it has to face the unprecedented health crisis that is affecting the whole world and for the first time since its creation, it is launching an appeal for donations so that the most vulnerable are not left alone and without resources to return to the streets in the face of a deadly virus. In 1954, on Radio Luxembourg, following a series of dramas linked to the rigours of winter, Abbe Pierre launched a poignant appeal for solidarity and generosity, which was to lead to the creation of the Emmaus communities.
