Suivi de la dernière création de Nicolas Pinon, laqueur - dans son atelier - et Dimitry Hlinka, designer, tous deux lauréats du Prix Bettencourt pour l'Intelligence de la Main 2020. Il s'agit d'un radiateur réalisé en kanshitsu, technique asiatique millénaire qui consiste à stratifier de la fibre de chanvre avec de laque végétale (urushi) et de la terre. Prototype nommé "Amplitude", en référence à une mesure caractérisant l'ampleur des variations d'une grandeur. On passe ici du noir au rouge, du froid au chaud, grâce au principe de la thermochromie. Ce projet a été réalisé avec le soutien de la Fondation Bettencourt-Sculler et la Fondation Banque Populaire.

Followed by the latest creation of Nicolas Pinon, lacquerer - in his workshop - and Dimitry Hlinka, designer, both winners of the Bettencourt Prize for the Intelligence of the Hand 2020. This is a radiator made in kanshitsu, an age-old Asian technique that consists of layering hemp fibre with vegetable lacquer (urushi) and earth. The prototype is called "Amplitude", in reference to a measure characterising the extent of variations in a quantity. Here we go from black to red, from cold to hot, thanks to the principle of thermochromy. This project was carried out with the support of the Bettencourt-Sculler Foundation and the Banque Populaire Foundation.
