Afin de consolider le campanile et restaurer la statue de Notre Dame de la Garde, malmenée par le soleil brûlant de la Méditerranée et ses embruns, un chantier d'envergure a lieu cette année.
Ce chantier, appelé "Opération dorure", réunit plusieurs corps de métiers. Qu’ils soient cordistes, tailleurs de pierre, chaudronniers, doreurs ou personnes de l'ombre, tous œuvrent pour remettre en lumière la « Bonne Mère ».
