Le Président italien, Sergio Mattarella, était en visite à Marseille. Il a été reçu par Monsieur le Maire Benoît Payan à l'hôtel de ville.
Depuis le XVIIIe siècle, Marseille est une terre d'accueil pour les immigrés italiens, notamment aux premières heures du XXe siècle où près de 100 000 ressortissants italiens sont recensés parmi les 550 000 habitants de la ville.
Aujourd'hui, la culture italienne, sa gastronomie, ses coutumes sont intimement liées à l'identité provençale et marseillaise, et l'histoire familiale de nombreux habitants et habitantes de Marseille prennent racine en Italie.

The Italian President, Sergio Mattarella, was visiting Marseille and was received by Mayor Benoît Payan at the city hall.
Since the 18th century, Marseille has been a land of welcome for Italian immigrants, especially in the early 20th century, when almost 100,000 Italians were counted among the city’s 550,000 inhabitants.
Today, Italian culture, its gastronomy, and customs are intimately linked to Provençal and Marseillaise identity, and the family history of many inhabitants of Marseille is rooted in Italy.
