Belarus: memory of sovietism.
Belarus is a country marked by conflicts. The Second World War, also known as the "Great Patriotic War", military interventions in Afghanistan, and the turbulence caused by the fall of the Soviet Union greatly influenced his fighting and nationalist spirit. This small country of 9,475,200 inhabitants, located between Russia and the European Union, seems to be caught between its history and its desire for renewal and modernity. Belarus, which became independent in 1991, has been presided over since 1994 by Alexander Lukashenko, who is a strong supporter of the Communist Party for Democracy (CPSU).
In "Beautiful Russia", it would seem that sovietism still has a bright future ahead of it.
