Lutte à Edirne
Pendant près de 700 ans, de nombreux Pehlivan (lutteurs) ont convergé sur Edirne, en Turquie pour Kirkpinar, un festival de lutte où les combattants sont enduit d'huile d'olive et seulement vêtuent du kisbet (pantalon de vachette traditionnel). Le gagnant est celui qui reste debout. Un combat peut durer jusqu'à 40 minutes maximum. Le champion se promène avec le Kirkpinar Golden Belt et le titre de Chief Pehlivan. Ce festival est un événement reconnu du patrimoine immatériel de l'UNESCO, qui attire des milliers de spectateurs chaque année et est considéré comme l'événement sportif annuel le plus ancien de l'histoire du monde.
