kanôn (la règle)
Matines.
Matins.
The whiteness of a robe stands out in the darkness, as the community, at the heart of the abbey church, assembles in their first prayers. Gregorian chants rise in the cold.
In this month of January, calm and serenity reign in the Abbey of Lagrasse. The place has returned to its first spiritual vocation, far from the summer tumult and its thousands of visitors. Here, a small community of canons regular, placed under the authority of an abbot and obeying a strict liturgy, similar in this to monastic life, conscientiously reinvests the premises with the progressive repair of the majestic building. The fervor, the discipline, to which each one clings, seizes hold of this young community in a territory without God (at the very least strongly dechristianized), recall a History of the Church in its conquests and expansions. By dint of interviews, an image has emerged: that of the Mission.
