Chateau de Castelnou
Castelnou, Mars 2026, bati au XIeme siècle, le chateau de Castelnou (chateau neuf en catalan) connu de nombreux propriétaires : comte de Besalu, vicomte de Castelnou, famille Fenouillet puis de Castelnou, Brousse avant de finir propriété du Credit Agricole et enfin, du Conseil Départemental des Pyrenees-Orientales. Ouvert au public dès 2020, il est un lieu symbole de l'histoire de la Nord Catalogne et du Roussillon, et surplombe le village médieval de Castelnou, classé parmi les plus beau village de France.

Castelnou Castle
Castelnou, March 2026, Built in the 11th century, the Castle of Castelnou has had numerous owners: the Counts of Besalú, the Viscounts of Castelnou, the Fenouillet family, then the Castelnou family, and the Brousse family, before eventually becoming the property of Crédit Agricole and, finally, the Departmental Council of the Pyrénées-Orientales. Open to the public since 2020, it stands as a symbolic site of the history of Northern Catalonia and Roussillon, overlooking the medieval village of Castelnou, classified among the most beautiful villages in France.
