Procession de la Sanch - Baixas
Baixas, 6 avril 2023 - jeudi saint, procession pascale du jeudi saint, procession de la Sanch de fin de journée, annonçant la procession principale de la Sanch de Perpignan où se retrouvent tous les villages fêtant la semaine sainte au travers de ce rite religieux.
Patrimoine catalan historique, la procession de la sanch existe depuis le 16eme siècle et sa mise en place par Saint Vincent. Néanmoins, plus pratiquée depuis plus de 60 ans sur Baixas, petit village catalan, celle-ci renait dans cette 1ere nouvelle édition organisée sous l'impulsion de la communauté catholique traditionnaliste de Perpignan et son pourtour.
Ainsi, le village resonne, la nuit précedant le Vendredi Saint, au son des cloches et de la démarche du régidor, tout de rouge vetu, menant la procession avec sa cagoule (ou caparuxe), pénitent parmis le cortège de pénitents.

Historical Catalan heritage, the procession of the Sanch exists since the 16th century and its establishment by St. Vincent. Nevertheless, no longer practiced for more than 60 years on Baixas, small Catalan village, this one is reborn in this 1st new edition organized under the impulse of the traditionalist catholic community of Perpignan and its surroundings.
Thus, the village resounds, the night before Good Friday, to the sound of the bells and the gait of the regidor, all dressed in red, leading the procession with his hood (or caparuxe), penitent among the procession of penitents.
