The Museum of Hunting and Nature in Paris
The Museum of Hunting and Nature, "Musée de France" since 2003, is a private museum gathering the collections of the François Sommer Foundation for Hunting and Nature (a foundation linked to hunting and the preservation of nature, in particular wildlife, created in 1964 by François Sommer and his wife Jacqueline). It is located in Paris, in the private mansions of Guénégaud and Mongelas in the heart of the Marais district. Closed for expansion since July 1, 2019, the Museum of Hunting and Nature has reopened its doors with an increased tour of a floor consisting of six new rooms through the two hotels. Mansarded, the new floor addresses - through contemporary art and heritage collections - various themes such as the relationship between man and living things, with a focus on an artistic and emotional approach. The first floor now includes a spacious reception area and new spaces, including a rich bookshop and a café with free access.
