L'écopâturage, des brebis pour entretenir la ville
À Bouloc, en Haute-Garonne, dans le nord de Toulouse, un troupeau de brebis tarasconnaises s’installe temporairement dans des espaces communaux pour y pâturer. Dans ce territoire périurbain situé entre ville et campagne, espaces boisés, prairies et terres agricoles, l’éco-pâturage fait entrer les animaux d’élevage au cœur du paysage quotidien.
À travers le troupeau, les brebis, le travail de l’éleveur ovin et la préparation des clôtures, cette série raconte une forme de pastoralisme contemporain et d’élevage extensif. Le pâturage devient un outil d’entretien naturel des espaces, de gestion des prairies et de préservation des paysages, tout en maintenant une activité agricole dans un environnement marqué par l’urbanisation et l’évolution des territoires.
Eco-grazing, sheep to maintain the town
In Bouloc, in Haute-Garonne, north of Toulouse, a flock of Tarasconnaise ewes is temporarily settling on communal land to graze. In this peri-urban area, situated between town and countryside and comprising woodland, meadows and farmland, eco-grazing brings livestock into the heart of the everyday landscape.
Through the flock, the ewes, the work of the sheep farmer and the preparation of the fences, this series explores a form of contemporary pastoralism and extensive livestock farming. Grazing becomes a means of naturally maintaining these areas, managing meadows and preserving landscapes, whilst sustaining agricultural activity in an environment marked by urbanisation and changing landscapes.
