Photographe indépendant français, partageant principalement son temps entre deux territoires qu'il connaît intimement : Le Perche et Taïwan ; où il développe des travaux documentaires à long terme.

Raconter des histoires est ce qui l'a toujours animé. Il a donc commencé par étudier le cinéma à travers une licence, puis a complété ce cursus par un master professionnel en Médiation culturelle afin d'apprendre à mener des projets artistiques avec différents publics. Nourri par ces études théoriques, il ressentait alors le besoin impérieux de trouver son medium de création afin d'être totalement acteur de ses idées et projets. Il a donc intégré l'ETPA, école de photographie à Toulouse, en obtenant tout d'abord un CAP de photographe afin de maîtriser la technique, puis un certificat de compétences, de niveau licence, pour développer sa créativité et apprendre le métier.

- Si j'étais un arbre, j'aurais les racines en France, dans le Perche, où je suis né et vis aujourd'hui la moitié de l'année, et le houppier à Taïwan, où je suis né une seconde fois et vis l'autre moitié de l'année. Ces deux territoires sont mon terreau, j'y construis mon regard photographique comme un voyage au long cours. -

Essentiellement attiré par la photographie documentaire, la photographie de rue, animalière et le reportage, Jimmy Beunardeau aspire à donner à voir l'Anima, du latin « souffle », « âme », d'où vient le terme « Animal ». Une parcelle de plus en plus ombragée de notre inconscient collectif à laquelle son travail se raccroche sans cesse. C'est pour cela qu'il photographie les humains exactement comme il photographie les autres animaux. En participant à des résidences artistiques et en menant des projets documentaires ou plus personnels, mais aussi à travers ses voyages, ses reportages pour la presse, ses livres et ses expositions ; Jimmy Beunardeau souhaite interroger la relation entre l'animal humain, son territoire et ceux avec qui il cohabite.

French freelance photographer, mainly sharing his time between two territories he knows intimately: Le Perche (France) and Taiwan; where he develops long-term documentary works.

Telling stories is what has always animated him. He began by studying cinema through a bachelor's degree, then completed this course with a professional master's degree in Cultural Mediation in order to learn how to conduct artistic projects with different audiences. Nourished by these theoretical studies, he felt the pressing need to find his medium of creation in order to be a full actor of his ideas and projects. He therefore entered ETPA, a photography school in Toulouse (France), first obtaining a CAP in photography in order to master the technique, then a certificate of competence, at the level of a bachelor's degree, to develop his creativity and learn the trade.

- If I were a tree, I would have the roots in France, in the Perche region, where I was born and live today half of the year, and the crown in Taiwan, where I was born a second time and live the other half of the year. These two territories are my breeding ground, I build there my photographic look like a long journey. -

Essentially attracted by documentary photography, street photography, wildlife photography and reportage, Jimmy Beunardeau aspires to show the Anima, from the Latin "breath", "soul", from which comes the term "Animal". A more and more shaded part of our collective unconscious to which his work constantly clings. This is why he photographs humans exactly as he photographs other animals. By participating in artistic residencies and by carrying out documentary or more personal projects, but also through his travels, his reports for the press, his books and his exhibitions; Jimmy Beunardeau wishes to question the relationship between the human animal, its territory and those with whom it cohabits.
