Lectoure, Gers, France – 30 octobre 2026.
Banksy Takes Centre Stage at Domaine du Boulouch in Southwest France
Lectoure, Gers, France – 30 October 2026.
Street art has found an unexpected home in the French countryside. From 31 October to 4 November 2026, Domaine du Boulouch is hosting Ode to Banksy, an exhibition dedicated to the world of the anonymous British artist, known for his politically charged works, provocative humour and distinctive visual language.
An invitation-only opening reception was held on Friday 30 October, bringing together artists, guests and local dignitaries, including Gers MP David Taupiac.
Curated by Christophe Bassetto, founder of the Gondrin art library, the exhibition brings together around 60 works, including pieces attributed to Banksy, paintings, sculptures, photographs, graffiti and installations created in tribute to his work by approximately 40 artists.
Among those involved is Richard Hessink, a Dutch art dealer and auctioneer specialising in Banksy. He is the author of Catalogue Raisonné of Banksy's Street Art, a three-volume publication documenting and cataloguing street artworks attributed to Banksy around the world. Published in 2024, the work comprises more than 1,700 pages and 6,500 photographs, providing an extensive visual archive of the artist's street art.
The artworks are displayed throughout the buildings and outdoor spaces of the 40-hectare estate, creating a dialogue between urban art and the surrounding rural landscape.
The exhibition has proved a popular success. According to Christophe Bassetto, at least 5,000 people visited during its opening weekend.
Admission is free, with visitors invited to make donations to the Red Cross. The exhibition concludes on 4 November with an auction of nine works presented as original pieces by Banksy.
