Le point de départ de cette série est avant tout une question, sinon un désir : peut-on entendre une voix et ses silences à travers une photographie ?Pour tenter d’y répondre, j’ai adopté l’approche d’un producteur de musique : écouter, sampler et amplifier.J’ai d’abord recherché des photographies qui m’apparaissaient sonores en parcourant mes archives personnelles, notamment celles documentant divers mouvements sociaux depuis 2017. Je les ai ensuite projetées sur un mur et j’ai prélevé des visages qui me touchaient, en les photographiant plusieurs fois par surimpression.Ces photographies de visages isolés, décontextualisées et traitées de la même façon, donnent à voir une voix qui n’est plus tout à fait celle du sujet, ni d’ailleurs celle du photographe.

The starting point for this series is above all a question, if not a desire: can we hear a voice and its silences through a photograph?
To try to answer this question, I adopted the approach of a music producer: listening, sampling, and amplifying.
I first searched for photographs that seemed sonorous to me by browsing through my personal archives, particularly those documenting various french social movements since 2017. Then, I projected them onto a wall and selected faces that moved me, photographing them several times using double exposure.
These photographs of isolated faces, decontextualized and treated in the same way, reveal a voice that is no longer quite that of the subject, nor indeed that of the photographer.
