Sartène célèbre ses saints patrons Saint Côme et Saint Damien
La fête patronale de Saint Côme et Saint Damien est l'un des principaux rendez-vous religieux de Sartène. Après la bénédiction de la foire et la célébration d'une messe au couvent, les statues des deux saints sont portées à travers les rues de la vieille ville par des habitants et des fidèles. La procession est accompagnée par les membres de la confrérie Del Santissimo Sacramento, reconnaissables à leur habit traditionnel, ainsi que par les autorités locales et de nombreux participants. Cette célébration perpétue une tradition plusieurs fois centenaire et demeure un moment fort du patrimoine religieux et culturel de la cité.
Sartene celebrates its patron saints Cosmas and Damian
The feast of Saints Cosmas and Damian is one of Sartene's main religious celebrations. Following the blessing of the local fair and a Mass at the convent, the statues of the two patron saints are carried through the streets of the old town by local residents and worshippers. The procession is accompanied by members of the Del Santissimo Sacramento brotherhood wearing their traditional robes as well as local officials and numerous faithful. The celebration preserves a centuries old tradition and remains one of the most important religious and cultural events in Sartene.
