Liban - Beyrouth - À la mémoire de Lokman Slim
Beyrouth. 11 Février. Une semaine après son assassinat au sud Liban, une cérémonie était organisée dans sa maison familiale à Haret Hreik, Beyrouth. Lokman Slim était un intellectuel libanais, critique du Hezbollah et revendiquant un Liban meilleur et uni. Lors de la cérémonie, sa mère, Salma Merchak Slim, a appelé les jeunes du Liban à « vivre selon les principes » défendus par son fils.
Lors de la cérémonie, les gens se sont rassemblés dans le jardin avec des affiches sur lesquelles étaient écrits « zéro peur », relayant le message de sa mère qui a appelé à ne pas politiser son assassinat et à inviter les libanais au dialogue au lieu de porter des armes.
Dans un discours court et émouvant, elle a déclaré: « Si vous voulez une patrie, vous devez vous accrocher aux principes pour lesquels Lokman a été martyrisé. Le lourd fardeau pèsera sur vous. Acceptez l'idée du dialogue et la logique de la raison pour créer un pays digne de Lokman. Éloignez-vous des armes, celles-ci ont emporté mon fils. »
Sur la plaque commémorative, où se tient un portrait de Lokman Slim, il y a ces mots: « Ici, il vit au paradis, héros du Liban. »
Lebanon - Beirut - In memory of Lokman Slim
Beirut. February 11th. A week after his assassination in southern Lebanon, a ceremony was held in his family home in Haret Hreik, Beirut. Lokman Slim was a Lebanese intellectual, critic of Hezbollah and claiming a better and united Lebanon. During the ceremony, his mother, Salma Merchak Slim, called on the youth of Lebanon to "live by the principles" defended by her son.
During the ceremony, people gathered in the garden with posters that read "zero fear", relaying the message from her mother who called for not politicizing her murder and for inviting the Lebanese to dialogue instead of carry arms.
In a short and moving speech, she said: ?If you want a homeland, you must hold on to the principles for which Lokman was martyred. The heavy burden will be on you. Accept the idea of ??dialogue and the logic of reason to create a country worthy of Lokman. Get away from the weapons, these took my son."
On the commemorative plaque, where a portrait of Lokman Slim stands, there are these words: "Here he lives in paradise, hero of Lebanon."
