Le Canal du Nivernais
Aujourd'hui exclusivement destiné au tourisme, le canal du Nivernais mis en service en 1841 avait pour vocation le transport du bois des forets du Morvan vers Paris, ce fut son utilisaion durant une quarantaine d'année. Long de 174 km le canal se decouvre en bateau, mais aussi en velo et a pieds en parcourant les chemins de halage.
The Nivernais Canal
Now used exclusively for tourism, the Nivernais Canal, which opened in 1841, was originally built to transport timber from the Morvan forests to Paris, a purpose it served for some forty years. Stretching 174 km, the canal can be explored by boat, as well as by bike and on foot along the towpaths.
