La confrérie des Baillis de Pouilly sur Loire a été créée en 1949 pour promouvoir les vins de Pouilly sur Loire.
Tous les ans, la Confrérie désigne parmi ses membres, l'hôte de la statue de Saint-Vincent, qui lors de son arrivée, procède à la cérémonie du clou consistant à planter un clou dans celle-ci, sur lequel figure son nom et l'année.
A l’occasion de la saint Vincent la confrérie tient son grand chapitre, durant lequel de nouveaux membres sont intronisés.
Cette année parmi les huit nouveaux Baillis et Ballives, Mazarine Mitterrand Pingeot suis les traces de son père intronisé en 1949, et Jean Michel Boursiquot considéré comme le plus grand spécialiste actuel en ampélographie.
Pouilly-sur-Loire est connu pour son vin Pouilly-Fumé. La plus ancienne trace d'un domaine à Pouilly, remonte au Ve siècle. Aujourd’hui près de 150 vignerons exploitent le vignoble de Pouilly et produisent le vin Pouilly-Fumé de cépage sauvignon
Grand Chapter of Saint Vincent the confraternity of Baillis de Pouilly sur Loire
The confraternity of Baillis de Pouilly sur Loire was founded in 1949 to promote the wines of Pouilly sur Loire.
Every year, the Brotherhood appoints one of its members to host the statue of Saint Vincent, who, on his arrival, performs the nail ceremony by driving a nail into the statue, bearing his name and the year.
On Saint Vincent's day, the brotherhood holds its grand chapter, during which new members are inducted.
This year's eight new Baillis and Ballives include Mazarine Mitterrand Pingeot, following in the footsteps of her father who was inducted in 1949, and Jean Michel Boursiquot, considered to be today's leading specialist in ampelography.
Pouilly-sur-Loire is famous for its Pouilly-Fumé wine. The oldest trace of an estate in Pouilly dates back to the 5th century. Today, around 150 winegrowers work the Pouilly vineyards, producing Pouilly-Fumé wine from the Sauvignon grape variety.
