La centrale nucléaire de Cruas-Meysse qui a produit 20 terrawats en 2022 avec ses 4 réacteurs est installee au bord du Rhône. Le fleuve a récemment fait l'objet d'une étude assez inquiétante relevant une baisse de son débit de 7% à la sortie du lac Léman jusqu'à 13% dans le Gard depuis 1960. Une augmentation de la température de l'eau est aussi relevée. La diminution des quantités de neige sur les Alpes et l'assèchement des sols donnent des projections peu optimistes pour le futur, et imposent une réflexion sur l'usage de l'eau.

The Cruas-Meysse nuclear power station, with its 4 reactors producing 20 terrawats in 2022, is located on the banks of the Rhône. The river was recently the subject of a rather worrying study, which found that its flow had fallen by 7% at the outlet of Lake Geneva and by 13% in the Gard since 1960. An increase in water temperature has also been noted. The reduction in snowfall in the Alps and the drying up of the soil mean that projections for the future are not very optimistic, and we need to think about how we use water.
