Vendeur·ses de Dope Magazine (projet en cours)
Vendeur·ses de Dope Magazine est un projet photographique en cours, réalisé au Royaume-Uni. Dope Magazine est un magazine distribué gratuitement à toute personne en difficulté souhaitant le vendre dans la rue. Les vendeur·ses gardent l’intégralité des revenus générés par les ventes. Présent principalement à Londres et dans d’autres grandes villes britanniques, ce projet solidaire offre une alternative concrète à la précarité.
La rédaction de Dope m’a confié la réalisation de portraits pour accompagner une série d’entretiens publiés chaque trimestre. Photographier ces vendeur·ses a été une expérience humaine forte. Nombre d’entre elleux ne sont pas habitué·es à être photographié·es, mais se montrent souvent ému·es et fier·es de se découvrir dans les pages du magazine.
Dope Magazine Vendors (ongoing project)
Dope Magazine Vendors is an ongoing photographic project carried out in the UK. Dope Magazine is distributed free of charge to anyone facing hardship who wishes to sell it on the street. Vendors keep 100 percent of the money from sales. Based in London and other major British cities, this solidarity-driven initiative provides a tangible response to financial precarity.
The magazine commissioned me to photograph vendors as part of a series of interviews published quarterly. Capturing their portraits has been a meaningful and rewarding experience. Many of them are not used to being photographed, yet they are often moved and proud to see themselves featured in the magazine.
