Procession des Pénitents – une reconstitution historique à Villefranche-de-Rouergue
Samedi 25 avril 2026, à Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Aveyron, s’est déroulée une reconstitution historique des pénitents bleus et noirs, sans oublier les Jacquets, organisée par la ville, l’Office du Tourisme et d’autres associations. De nouveau mis en scène depuis quelques années, sans son aspect religieux, la procession des Pénitents ressort du passé la vie et missions des Pénitents du XVII ème siècle à Villefranche-de-Rouergue.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Aveyron, an historical reenactment of the Blue and Black Penitents, along with the Jacquets (pilgrims on the Way of St. James), took place, organized by the town, the Tourist Office, and other associations. Revived in recent years, though without its religious aspect, the Penitents' procession evokes the past, recalling the life and missions of the 17th-century Penitents in Villefranche-de-Rouergue.
