Semaine Sainte/ Procession de la Sanch à Perpignan (2023-2024)
La Sanch est une tradition religieuse catalane datant, pour la première à Perpignan, de l’année 1416 (date de création de la Confrérie de la Sanch, par Saint Vincent Ferrier, moine dominicain). Il s’agit de l’événement le plus emblématique parmi toutes les célébrations lors de la semaine sainte, qui honore la passion du Christ, du dimanche des rameaux, en passant par la procession del Pagesos le jeudi saint, avant le vendredi saint (chemin de croix et crucifixion de Jésus) jusqu’à Pâques pour la résurrection du Christ, et fête chrétienne la plus importante. Holy Week / Sanch Procession in Perpignan (2023-2024)
The Sanch is a Catalan religious tradition, first recorded in Perpignan in 1416 (the year the Confrérie de la Sanch was founded by Saint Vincent Ferrer, a Dominican friar). It is the most emblematic event among all the Holy Week celebrations, which honor the Passion of Christ, from Palm Sunday, through the Procession of the Pagesos on Holy Thursday, before Good Friday (the Stations of the Cross and the Crucifixion of Jesus), to Easter for the Resurrection of Christ, the most important Christian festival.
