«Avec le drame qui vient de se dérouler, on vient de perdre 10 ans!
Que ce soit au niveau médiatique, l'image des quartiers, l'image d'une jeunesse. Tout le travail réalisé en amont avec les jeunes sur le respect des institutions, la confiance envers ces institutions... Peu importe les efforts que font les acteurs de terrain toute l'année, avec cet événement, on recule de 10 ans.
Exemple, on organise des ateliers avec une association de policiers qui fait le tour de France avec cette initiative: tous les ans, ici à Argenteuil, ils invitent des jeunes et des policiers à s'asseoir autour d'une même table lors d'une journée de sensibilisation. Ils répondent à des questions de type comment se déroule un contrôle d'identité, le vouvoiement, ou encore comment effectuer une interpellation sans violence... Les jeunes se déplacent. Mais pas une seule fois les policiers d'Argenteuil ne sont venus.
Pourquoi? Comment un policier qui a gifflé un adolescent gratuitement la veille peut-il se présenter le lendemain à ce type de réunion? Ils savent qu'ils ne sont pas crédibles, c'est pour ça qu'ils ne viennent pas.
Le décès de Sabri, paix à son âme, met en lumière les agissements des brigades de police sur Argenteuil. La Skoda, les chtis, la bande à Pacman, qui est la relève de Magnum
(surnoms attribués par les Argenteuillais aux brigades de police impliquées dans des comportements dysfonctionnels),
ils ont tous été visés par de multiples plaintes qui n'ont jamais abouti. Jamais une suspension.
Maintenant, tout ce qu'on demande, ce pour quoi on marche aujourd'hui et ce pourquoi on continuera à se battre malgré le deuil, c'est juste l'égalité. C'est tout ce qu'on demande. La justice et l'égalité. On est nés avec ce combat et on se battra jusqu'à notre dernier souffle.
L'enjeu, c'est d'offrir un monde réparé à nos enfants.»
Sabri Chouhbi, 18 ans, est décédé le 17 mai 2020 à Argenteuil d'un accident de moto alors que la BAC d'Ermont était présente sur les lieux.
Une dizaine de personnes sont décédées en France durant la période de confinement dans des circonstances impliquant la police.

"With the drama that has just taken place, we have just lost 10 years!
Whether it's in the media, the image of the neighbourhoods, the image of a youth. All the work done upstream with young people on respect for institutions, trust in these institutions... Regardless of the efforts made by the actors in the field all year round, with this event, we are going back 10 years.
For example, we organise workshops with an association of police officers who tour France with this initiative: every year, here in Argenteuil, they invite young people and police officers to sit around the same table during an awareness-raising day. They answer questions such as how an identity check is carried out, how to be polite, or how to carry out an arrest without violence... The young people come. But not once did the Argenteuil police come.
Why not? How can a policeman who slapped a teenager for no reason the day before show up the next day at this type of meeting? They know they are not credible, that's why they don't come.
The death of Sabri, may he rest in peace, highlights the actions of the police brigades in Argenteuil. The Skoda, the chtis, the Pacman gang, which is the successor to Magnum
(nicknames attributed by the Argenteuillais to the police brigades involved in dysfunctional behaviour),
they have all been the target of multiple complaints which have never been successful. Never a suspension.
Now, all we're asking for, what we're marching for today and what we'll continue to fight for despite the grief, is just equality. That's all we're asking for. Justice and equality. We were born with this fight and we will fight it until our last breath.
What is at stake is to offer a repaired world to our children."
Sabri Chouhbi, 18 years old, died on 17 May 2020 in Argenteuil from a motorbike accident while the Ermont BAC was present on the scene.
12 people have died in circumstances involving the French police since the beginning of the lockdown.
