L'usine chimique, qui a compté jusqu'à 3 000 employés, a licencié ses 74 derniers salariés. Laissant une friche polluée de 160 hectares au coeur de la ville. Mazingarbe, a small town nestled at the foot of the slag heaps of the Pas-de-Calais, has lived with "its factory" since 1897. Less publicised than its neighbour, the fall of Maxam Tan tells the story of the de-industrialisation of the former mining basin. The chemical factory, which had up to 3,000 employees, is preparing to lay off its last 74 workers. Leaving a polluted wasteland of 160 hectares in the heart of the city.
