Un débat sur l'Etat de droit
Qu'est-ce que l'Etat de droit, attaqué aujourd'hui par certains courants politiques comme attentatoire à la volonté des gouvernants représentant les peuples. La fragilisation de la démocratie qu'opère cette remise en cause pose la question des limites politiques au pouvoir et la question de la séparation des pouvoirs mise en avant par Montesquieu. Le sujet a été débattu avec l'ancien Premier ministre Bernard Cazeneuve et le Président de la région des hauts de France Xavier Berrtrand, accompagnés notamment par les juristes constitutionnalistes Benjamin Morel et Anne-Charlène Bezzina. Pas de démocratie sans Etat de droit.

What is the rule of law, currently under attack from certain political movements as an infringement on the will of those who govern and represent the people? The weakening of democracy brought about by this challenge raises the question of political limits to power and the issue of the separation of powers, as highlighted by Montesquieu. The topic was discussed with former Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve and Xavier Bertrand, President of the Hauts-de-France region, accompanied by constitutional law experts Benjamin Morel and Anne-Charlène Bezzina. There can be no democracy without the rule of law.
