Hommage national à M Lionel Jospin
Décédé le 22 mars 2026 à l'âge de 88 ans, l'ancien Premier ministre socialiste Lionel Jospin a fait l'objet d'un hommage unanime de l'ensemble de la classe politique pour sa probité et son sens de l'Etat. Lionel Jospin a laissé, avec la cohabitation de 1997 à 2002 (cohabitation avec le président Jacques Chirac), un héritage durable avec les 35h notamment et le PACS ouvrant la voie au mariage pour tous. Mais il est aussi, avec la Gauche plurielle, l'homme politique qui a pu montrer qu'une voie médiane à gauche était possible.

Former Socialist Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, who died on March 22, 2026, at the age of 88, was unanimously honored by the entire political class for his integrity and sense of duty to the state. During the period of cohabitation from 1997 to 2002 (cohabitation with President Jacques Chirac), Lionel Jospin left a lasting legacy, notably the 35-hour workweek and the PACS (Civil Solidarity Pact), which paved the way for same-sex marriage. But he is also, with the Plural Left, the politician who demonstrated that a middle ground on the left was possible.
