Ancien Maire de Neuilly où il a commencé sa carrière Politique, ancien député de la circonscription avant d'être élu à la présidence de la République en 2007, Nicolas Sarkozy s'est déplacé dans son ancienne circonscription aux portes de Paris, à la rencontre de ses fans pour dédicacer son livre Journal d'un Prisonnier. Il y parle de son expérience de la détention après avoir été jugé coupable en première instance d'association de malfaiteurs dans l'affaire dite libyenne par le tribunal judiciaire de Paris. Il a fait appel de cette décision et clame son innocence et dénonce ce qu'il estime être l'acharnement judiciaire à son égard.

Former mayor of Neuilly, where he began his political career, and former member of parliament for the district before being elected president of the Republic in 2007, Nicolas Sarkozy traveled to his former constituency on the outskirts of Paris to meet with his supporters and sign copies of his book, Journal d'un Prisonnier (Diary of a Prisoner). In it, he recounts his experience of imprisonment after being found guilty in the first instance of conspiracy in the so-called Libyan affair by the Paris Judicial Court. He has appealed this decision, maintaining his innocence and denouncing what he considers to be judicial harassment against him.
