Les politiques de fermetures de lits d'hopitaux continuent d'inquiéter les Français qui, derrière une politique de rationalisation avancée par les gouvernements successifs, voient et constatent un affaiblissement des hôpitaux publics dénoncé par de nombreux élus de toutes tendances. L'APHP n'est pas exempte de volonté de continuer ce mouvement de fermeture, ciblant désormais l'hôpital Bichat. 300 lits seraient perdus, selon les manifestants, si le projet restait en l'état, ce contre quoi ils s'élèvent au nom de la santé des parisiens.
