Nouvelle-Calédonie - Du fret humanitaire envoyé à Tonga depuis Nouméa
Sollicitée par les Tonga dans le cadre de l'accord de coopération FRANZ (France-Australie-Nouvelle-Zélande), la France a affrété le patrouilleur La Glorieuse, basé en Nouvelle-Calédonie pour l'envoi de 10 tonnes de fret humanitaire à destination de l'archipel frappé le 15 janvier par une puissante éruption volcanique, suivie d'un tsunami. Le navire devrait arriver jeudi dans la capitale tongienne, avec à son bord des kits d'hygiène, des tentes, du matériel de reconstruction, des lampes solaires, des masques et 2,5 tonnes d'eau potable.
New Caledonia - Humanitarian cargo sent to Tonga from Noumea
At the request of Tonga under the FRANZ (France-Australia-New Zealand) cooperation agreement, France has chartered the patrol boat La Glorieuse, based in New Caledonia, to send 10 tonnes of humanitarian cargo to the archipelago, which was hit by a powerful volcanic eruption on 15 January, followed by a tsunami. The ship is due to arrive in the Tongan capital on Thursday, carrying hygiene kits, tents, reconstruction materials, solar lamps, masks and 2.5 tonnes of drinking water.
