AXA Water rugby 2026
Du vendredi 26 au dimanche 28 juin 2026, le port de Toulon a accueilli la deuxième édition de l’AXA Water Rugby. Organisé dans la Vieille Darse, face au célèbre stade Mayol, cet événement gratuit a transformé la rade en un véritable terrain de rugby flottant pendant trois jours.
Cette discipline spectaculaire reprend les principes du rugby à toucher, sans plaquage ni jeu au pied. Les rencontres opposent deux équipes de cinq joueurs durant des matchs courts et rythmés. En l’absence d’en-but traditionnel, les participants doivent plonger dans l’eau pour inscrire un essai, offrant ainsi au public des actions aussi sportives qu’impressionnantes.
La journée du vendredi était consacrée au tournoi des entreprises. Le samedi, environ 200 joueurs amateurs venus de France, mais également d’Angleterre et d’Espagne, ont participé à la compétition. Une soirée festive a ensuite réuni joueurs et supporters autour de la diffusion de la finale du Top 14, de DJ sets et d’un espace de restauration installé sur le port. Le dimanche était réservé aux équipes régionales et au très attendu match des légendes, auquel ont participé d’anciennes figures du rugby et du Rugby Club Toulonnais.
Tout au long du week-end, un village rugby, des boutiques, des animations et des espaces de convivialité ont complété le programme. Entre compétition, plongeons, musique et bonne humeur, l’AXA Water Rugby 2026 a proposé une manière originale, accessible et festive de célébrer le ballon ovale au cœur de Toulon.

From Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28, 2026, the Port of Toulon hosted the second edition of AXA Water Rugby. Held in the Vieille Darse, opposite the famous Stade Mayol, this free event transformed the harbour into a genuine floating rugby pitch for three days.
This spectacular sport follows the principles of touch rugby, with no tackling or kicking. Matches are played between two teams of five players in short, fast-paced games. As there is no traditional try line, players must dive into the water to score a try, providing the audience with action that is both athletic and impressive.
Friday was dedicated to the corporate tournament. On Saturday, around 200 amateur players from France, as well as England and Spain, took part in the competition. A festive evening then brought players and supporters together for a live screening of the Top 14 final, DJ sets and a food area set up on the harbour. Sunday was reserved for regional teams and the highly anticipated legends match, featuring former rugby stars and past players from Rugby Club Toulonnais.
Throughout the weekend, a rugby village, shops, entertainment and social areas completed the programme. Combining competition, diving, music and a lively atmosphere, AXA Water Rugby 2026 offered an original, accessible and festive way to celebrate rugby in the heart of Toulon.
