FRANCE - JOHN HOWE AU VERNISSAGE DE SON EXPOSITION EN LOIRE-ATLANTIQUE
L'illustrateur canadien John Howe a inauguré l'exposition Voyages fantastiques à travers l'art de John Howe à la chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Mûrier à Batz-sur-Mer, France, le 12 juillet 2026.
Célèbre pour ses illustrations de l'œuvre de J.R.R. Tolkien et pour son travail de directeur artistique sur les trilogies cinématographiques Le Seigneur des Anneaux et Le Hobbit, John Howe présente une sélection d'œuvres inspirées des légendes anciennes, des paysages mythiques et des mondes fantastiques. Cette exposition est proposée sur trois sites patrimoniaux de la Presqu'île de Guérande : la chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Mûrier à Batz-sur-Mer, la Porte Saint-Michel (Château-Musée de Guérande) et le château de Ranrouët à Herbignac. Le vernissage se déroule en présence de l'artiste, de Marie-Catherine Lehuédé, maire de Batz-sur-Mer, et de Nicolas Criaud, président de CapAtlantique La Baule-Guérande Agglo et maire de Guérande.
FRANCE - JOHN HOWE AT THE OPENING OF HIS EXHIBITION IN LOIRE-ATLANTIQUE
Canadian illustrator John Howe opened the exhibition *Fantastic Journeys Through the Art of John Howe* at the Notre-Dame-du-Mûrier Chapel in Batz-sur-Mer, France, on July 12, 2026.
Famous for his illustrations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s works and for his work as art director on the film trilogies *The Lord of the Rings* and *The Hobbit*, John Howe presents a selection of works inspired by ancient legends, mythical landscapes, and fantastical worlds. This exhibition is being held at three historic sites on the Guérande Peninsula: the Notre-Dame-du-Mûrier Chapel in Batz-sur-Mer, the Porte Saint-Michel (Guérande Castle Museum), and Ranrouët Castle in Herbignac. The opening reception will be attended by the artist, Marie-Catherine Lehuédé, mayor of Batz-sur-Mer, and Nicolas Criaud, president of CapAtlantique La Baule-Guérande Agglo and mayor of Guérande.
