My Human Kit
Quatre jours, et pas une minute de plus, pour fabriquer une pince destinée à saisir des objets depuis un fauteuil roulant, un engin à roulettes pour soutenir une jambe partiellement paralysée ou des toilettes portatives. Le tout sur mesure, avec des plans partageables en open source. C’est le défi du tout premier hackathon organisé en octobre dernier par l’association My Human Kit, réunissant 70 participants: chercheurs, ateliers, geeks de tout poil, autour de six projets portés par des personnes en situation de handicap. La démonstration que l’intelligence collective, l’ingéniosité technique et un certain art de la débrouille peuvent changer leur quotidien, mais aussi les regards.

Four days, and not a minute more, to build a gripper to pick up objects from a wheelchair, a wheeled device to support a partially paralysed leg, or a portable toilet. All made to measure, with plans that can be shared openly. This was the challenge of the very first hackathon organised last October by the My Human Kit association, bringing together 70 participants: researchers, workshops, geeks of all kinds, around six projects led by people with disabilities. It was a demonstration that collective intelligence, technical ingenuity and a certain art of resourcefulness can change not only their daily lives, but also the way we look at things.
