Protests against a planned solar power plant (SPP) on communal grazing lands in Kervanpinar neighbourhood, Sur district of Diyarbakir, continue. While a lawsuit challenging the positive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) decision is ongoing, company workers entered the site under the protection of gendarmerie and riot police. Villagers, women and environmental activists held a march demanding that construction be halted and the project cancelled.
