Contraint de quitter ce royaume d’Afrique australe autrefois baptisé Swaziland, où il était pourchassé sans relâche par les autorités, il a rejoint la France et espère désormais une réponse positive de l’Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides (OFPRA) à sa demande d’asile.

Twenty years on, I am now experiencing it first-hand » : for his work in defence of human rights in Eswatini, the lawyer Maxwell Nkambule was the victim of an assassination attempt in 2022. Forced to leave this southern African kingdom formerly known as Swaziland, where he was relentlessly hounded by the authorities, he has moved to France and is now hoping for a positive response from OFPRA to his asylum application.
