Élue cinq jours plus tôt à Grenoble avec un peu plus de 56% des suffrages face à Alain Cagnon, Laurence Ruffin a été intronisée maire de la ville vendredi 27 mars 2026 lors du premier conseil municipal de sa mandature. Après un discours ému de l'écologiste Éric Piolle, qui quitte son poste après douze à la tête de la ville, elle a été officiellement élue par le conseil municipal et reçu l'écharpe tricolore qu'elle arborera désormais durant six ans, ouvrant ainsi un nouveau chapitre pour la capitale des Alpes.

Elected five days earlier in Grenoble with just over 56% of the vote against Alain Cagnon, Laurence Ruffin was sworn in as mayor of the city on Friday 27 March 2026 during the first council meeting of her term of office. Following an emotional speech by the Green Party’s Éric Piolle, who is stepping down after twelve years at the helm of the city, she was officially elected by the city council and received the tricolour sash which she will now wear for the next six years, thus opening a new chapter for the capital of the Alps.
