Fin février, à trois semaines du scrutin, l'ancien maire de Grenoble a présenté son programme et sa liste, au sein de laquelle il a réservé une place de choix à ses nouveaux alliés de Renaissance, qui ont finalement rejoint sa candidature à la surprise générale.

Forty-three years after taking it from the Left and on the eve of his 77th birthday, Alain Carignon is determined to retake Grenoble in the municipal elections to be held on 15 and 22 March 2026, after two terms of environmentalist rule during which he was a thorn in their side.
The former RPR minister and ex-president of the Isère General Council, convicted of corruption in 1996, is once again running as a candidate for Les Républicains (LR), after a failed first attempt in 2020.
At the end of February, three weeks before the election, the former mayor of Grenoble presented his programme and his list, in which he reserved a prominent place for his new allies from Renaissance, who finally joined his candidacy to everyone's surprise.
