5 NOVEMBER | In Grenoble, a sea of people came together to unite their struggles
Employees, students, sixth-formers and pensioners once again took to the streets of Grenoble on Thursday 5 November 2026 to voice their concerns about the deterioration in living, studying and working conditions. This demonstration reflects the persistence of social demands and the determination of different generations to make their voices heard.
Organised at the call of the trade unions, the day’s events, however, saw a few twists and turns even before they got underway. Initially challenged by a prefectural order, the route was ultimately authorised by the Grenoble Administrative Court. According to the trade unions, nearly 30,000 people took part in the rally in the capital of the Alps.
