Drift au Liban
Dans un pays où vous êtes en permanence en alerte, lorsque vous entendez une forte détonation ou apercevez de la fumée, vous pensez au pire.
Peut-être s'agit-il d'une bombe, d'un affrontement.
Ce jour-là, il s'agissait de quelque chose de différent. Il y avait de fortes détonations et de la fumée, non pas à cause d'un danger mais d'un rassemblement. Un dimanche après-midi normal à Tripoli, au nord du Liban, une ville que beaucoup de gens considèrent comme dangereuse, il y avait une toute autre animation. Vous pouviez y observer environ trois cents personnes de toutes les villes du Liban rassemblées pour regarder le spectacle. Vous pouvez voir des gens de tous les âges, de différentes religions, des familles, des couples, des amis se tenant autour de la piste et attendant le début du spectacle. Lorsque le spectacle a commencé, vous pouvez voir l'excitation et le bonheur sur le visage des spectateurs. Pour eux, c'était comme un moyen de s'évader de la réalité, de la vie difficile qu'ils mènent dans ce pays. C'était l'occasion d'oublier leurs problèmes, d'oublier la destruction, la crise économique et tout ce qui se passe de mauvais autour d'eux. D'un autre côté, vous voyez les conducteurs concentrés et dévoués à ce qu'ils font, et quand ils commencent à drifter, ils se sentent intouchables, ils ont l'impression d'être les plus forts, et les meilleurs dans ce qu'ils font. La beauté du peuple libanais, ils font de leur mieux pour profiter de la vie avec ce qui leur en reste, et pour garder le sourire.
Drifting in Lebanon
In a country where you stay alerted all the time and if you hear any loud bang or see a smoke you will think of the worst. Maybe a war, a bomb, a fight anything. In thise case it was something different. There was loud bangs and smoke not from a danger, but from a drifting show. On a regular Sunday afternoon, in Tripoli north of Lebanon, the city that a lot of people consider dangerous, there was a drift show. You can see around three hundred people from all the cities in Lebanon gathered around to watch the show. You can see people from different ages from different religions, families, couples, friends standing around the track and waiting for the show to start. When the show started you can see the excitement and happiness on people?s faces. It was like a escape for them from the reality of the hard lives they have in this country. It was a time to forget their problems, to forget the destruction, the economic crises and everything bad happening around them. On the other hand you see the drivers focused and dedicated to what they are doing, and when they start drifting they feel infinite they feel like they are the strongest, and the best at what they do. And that the beauty of the Lebanese people, they try their best to enjoy life with what?s left, and to keep the positivity alive.
