Benjamin a grandi dans l'Oise et est parti vivre au Royaume-Uni à l'âge de 17 ans où il y étudie la photographie au lycée puis poursuit par un Bachelor en Photojournalisme à Staffordshire University. Pendant ses études il traita des sujets tel que l'austérité, la crise migratoire au
Royaume-Uni et en Europe lors de son projet de fin d'études.
Après ses études, il travaille pour une agence de presse britannique à Manchester en tant que photojournaliste où il couvre principalement les faits divers ainsi que les événements sportifs. Son travail fut publié dans de nombreux journaux britanniques tels que The Telegraph, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, à la television , ainsi que dans la presse internationale.
Son travail se concentre principalement autour des crises de société, identitaires et migratoires. Sa série "Reaching Freedom ?" sur les effets de l'accord entre L'Union Européenne et la Turquie sur les migrants fut nominée à trois reprises aux Midlands Media Students Awards du Birmingham Press Club.
