Souchon boissons, barrels at rest
This is the first time that Remi, 42 years old, has taken over the reins. Usually, the CEO of Souchon Boissons Services (la Ricamarie, Loire) delegates this task to a secretary. Created by his great-grandfather, Joseph Ganivet in 1922, the Souchon Boissons Services family business, soon to be a hundred years old, is going through the biggest crisis in its history. Philippe, his brother and 38 year old CEO, estimates that the business fell by 95 percent during the period of confinement. Out of the 90 weekly trucks, only 9 will leave the depot this week and not completely full. The majority of the customers of this distribution company are bars, restaurants and nightclubs, and the covid crisis is completely disrupting its business. Out of the 70 employees, barely a dozen remain in activity, including Hugo, 25 years old, the third and last of the siblings who takes care of marketing. He has created a smartphone application for professionals and is developing another one to attack the private market, the only customer still available during the confinement periods. Daniel, 67 years old, their father, still in "the box" even if he has delegated the power to his sons, continues to drive the rare trucks. The application " it is also a question of feeling alive, of not closing and turning off the lights ".
