De 6 à 18 ans, Céline a vécu au Pérou, dont elle est originaire. De retour en France elle a exercé la profession d'hôtesse de l'air. Lors de ses escales, elle a visité avec passion les pays qu'elle a traversés, s'est confrontée à la misère et a décidé de s'investir dans l'action humanitaire, notamment au Pérou.

Elle a d'abord travaillé à la Posadita del buen pastor à Lima, avec des enfants atteints du Sida, souvent orphelins, et toujours rejetés. Elle s'est également occupée d'enfants des rues exploités dans des usines à briques.

En 2003, elle a entamé son premier travail photographique Coeur de Femmes. Durant 2 années, elle a accompagné des femmes de la rue, de passage à la Halte, à Paris. « Être photographe répond à une volonté de témoigner, de transmettre une réalité poussée au-delà du premier regard. » Pour ce travail, elle a obtenu, d'une part, la bourse du Talent reportage Kodak, une bourse Défi jeune du Ministère de la Jeunesse et des Sports, et a fait partie des lauréats de la bourse Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet. Elle a publié, d'autre part, le livre Coeur de Femmes, en mars 2004, aux éditions de La Martinière.

En décembre 2004, elle a entrepris un reportage sur les coupeurs de canne à sucre haïtiens en République Dominicaine: Esclaves au Paradis. Elle a été à l'origine d'une campagne internationale de dénonciation des conditions d'esclavage auxquelles étaient soumis les coupeurs de canne dans les

plantations dominicaines. Celle-ci a, entre autres, été soutenue par Amnesty International, la FIDH, le maire de Paris, Bertrand Delanoë et le rapporteur spécial de l'ONU sur les formes contemporaines de racisme et de discrimination Doudou Diène. Pour ce travail, Céline Anaya Gautier a été finaliste du grand Prix CARE International du reportage humanitaire et lauréate du prix de l'enquête du Festival du Scoop d'Angers en 2007. Ce sujet a déjà fait l'objet d'une centaine de publications dans la presse nationale et internationale. Le livre Esclaves au Paradis, accompagné d'un CD de chants traditionnels des coupeurs de canne haïtiens, a été publié en avril 2007 aux éditions Vents d'ailleurs.

En 2008, elle publie son troisième livre « Le vrai goût du Cambodge » qui invite le lecteur à découvrir le pays « du sourire » à travers son art culinaire et sa culture. En 2010, Elle réalise pour le cinquantième anniversaire de la Fondation Bleustein Blanchet 50 portraits de lauréats dont Allain Bougrain-Dubourg, Laurence Zigvogel, Yves Coppens...

Aujourd'hui, à 48 ans, Céline a écrit son premier récit Dis maman, c'est encore loin Compostelle ? sortie aux Éditions Le Passeur pour lequel elle est lauréate du prix du témoignage 2015 du Pèlerin Magazine. En avril 2016, Santiago au Pays de Compostelle, livre-photo, à été publié aux Éditions de la Martinière et remporte en octobre 2018 le prix Culture Bleue. En Mars 2017 elle publie chez Flammarion Compostelle - Paroles de pèlerins. Céline a publié son dernier livre-photo Chasse à courre - A la croisée des mondes chez Flammarion pour lequel elle a reçu en 2019 le 12e prix littéraire et audiovisuel Connaissance de la chasse - Catégorie Cynégética. Après avoir marché en 2020 sur la Via Francigena avec son deuxième fils Leandro, elle vient de sortir en Septembre 2021 aux Éditions Trédaniel son nouveau récit Ciao Pellegrino ! Chemin initiatique d'un petit homme sur la VIA FRANCIGENA.

Céline accompagne l'itinérance de ses expositions, publie son travail personnel et collabore avec plusieurs magazines en France et à l'étranger.

From the age of 6 to 18, Céline lived in Peru, where she is native. Back in France, she worked as an air hostess. During her stopovers, she visited with passion the countries she crossed, was confronted with misery and decided to invest herself in humanitarian action, especially in Peru. She first worked at the Posadita del buen pastor in Lima, with children suffering from AIDS, often orphans, and always rejected. She also worked with street children who were exploited in brick factories.

In 2003, she started her first photographic work Heart of Women. During 2 years, she accompanied street women, passing through La Halte, in Paris. "Being a photographer is a way of bearing witness, of transmitting a reality beyond the first glance. For this work, she was awarded the Kodak Talent Reportage grant, a Défi jeune grant from the French Ministry of Youth and Sports, and was among the winners of the Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet grant. She also published the book Coeur de Femmes, in March 2004, with Editions de La Martinière.

In December 2004, she undertook a report on Haitian sugar cane cutters in the Dominican Republic: Esclaves au Paradis. She was at the origin of an international campaign to denounce the conditions of slavery to which the sugarcane cutters were subjected in the Dominican plantations. This campaign was supported by Amnesty International, the FIDH, the mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë and the UN special rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism and discrimination, Doudou Diène. For this work, Céline Anaya Gautier was a finalist for the CARE International Grand Prize for Humanitarian Reporting and winner of the 2007 Angers Scoop Festival Investigative Award. This subject has already been the subject of a hundred publications in the national and international press. The book Esclaves au Paradis (Slaves in Paradise), accompanied by a CD of traditional Haitian cane cutters' songs, was published in April 2007 by Vents d'ailleurs.

In 2008, she published her third book "Le vrai goût du Cambodge" (The true taste of Cambodia) which invites the reader to discover the country "of smiles" through its culinary art and culture.

In 2010, for the fiftieth anniversary of the Bleustein Blanchet Foundation, she painted 50 portraits of laureates including Allain Bougrain-Dubourg, Laurence Zigvogel, Yves Coppens, ...

Today, at 45 years old, Céline has written her first story Dis maman, c'est encore loin Compostelle? published by Le Passeur for which she is the winner of the 2015 Pèlerin Magazine Testimony Award. In April 2016, Santiago au Pays de Compostelle, a photo book, was published by Éditions de la Martinière and won the Culture Bleue prize in October 2018. In March 2017 she published Compostelle - Paroles de pèlerins with Flammarion. Céline published her latest photo book Chasse à courre - A la croisée des mondes at Flammarion for which she received in 2019 the 12th literary and audiovisual prize Connaissance de la chasse - Category Cynégética. After walking in 2020 on the Via Francigena with her second son Leandro, she has just released in September 2021 at Éditions Trédaniel her new story Ciao Pellegrino! Path
