Achille, Eliane and Djo. Companions of Emmaus and roommates
I like to meet those who are usually forgotten by everyone. Surely my interest for the human being, I was a volunteer for a while at Emmaus, with or without camera. You don't get a second chance! I sympathized with volunteers, but also with companions. Whether in the Val de Marne where I live or Perpignan where I come from.
Friendships were created, as with Achille, Eliane and Djo her husband. They are companions at Emmaus Liberté in Champigny Sur Marne and share a small house lent by Emmaus. Five years of roommate in 30 m2, I was curious to see that. They wanted me to tell them through my photos. So on Monday 9 November 2020, they invited me to share a part of their daily life. Éliane cooked her famous Mbinzo at the Mayebo. A Congolese speciality based on caterpillars and smoked fish. I didn't honor it, I'm (half) vegetarian, -)
We laughed a lot and we sang. I was touched by their welcome, their story, and especially their confidence. These first photos are the beginning of a long short photo report and I think of a beautiful human photographic adventure.
